Where do you point the IR Gun to determine engine temperature related to overheating concerns? I need to establish how hot my engine is running. Accurately. I’ve posted here a few days ago, which is where I got the idea of the IR Gun. Now I need to know where I point the laser at to obtain what matters. Is my engine running too hot. I realize Pontiacs run a bit hotter. But I’m trying to determine if what I’m running at is safe. Knowing the exact spot to point the laser at on the motor is something I am wanting to know. I have FlowKooler Mechanical Water Pump on, a 4 core radiator, new thermostat set at 180 Degrees, and an additional electric fan.
