Hope it’s ok to ask this here. I couldn’t get any input on r/mechanicadvise so figured I’d try here. I’m currently selling a 55 crown Vic. I had a prospective buyer come out last week to look at it and after looking at it for 20 minutes he said he was going to pass because it had “obvious frame damage and repair”. I was not aware of anything like this in the car but I jacked it up and crawled underneath it and noticed these flat pieces of steel on the bottom of each frame rail. This doesn’t seem substantial enough to be a welded frame repair, it’s pretty thin metal. My dad and i were thinking maybe some type of home done skid plate but I’m not sure. Any ideas?
