I have a 67 Pontiac Lemans and after installing the summit max efi it seems like I'm fighting it to get up to speeds. It is extremely slow on acceleration even compared to the OEM two barrel tiny carb and intake it had. It also now pushes white smoke and sometimes black smoke out of the exhaust on said accelerations. Also after I fight for it to accelerate it shifts and accelerates well. I have replaced the trans kickdown as well as the throttle cable, thinking it was one of those, I also did a in-line fuel system that seems to work, with two filters and regulator. I am new to EFI systems, I just thought it was a good idea because it's a summer daily driver for me. My guess is the fuel system is not feeding enough fuel to the EFI system, not sure though.
