I'm in the midst of troubleshooting a carb issue on a 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air. It has the 253 Rochester 1 barrel carb with automatic choke. I have pulled off the top of the carb to clean the bowl, needle valve, etc. but 2 things:
1st – I need the top section gasket to put it back together and not confident in what I'm seeing on Amazon.
2nd – I may just go ahead and purchase a rebuild kit in the event that the rubber tip of the needle valve has degraded with ethanol over the years requiring a new valve and seat.
For those with experience to share, what's your go-to parts source?
